day. He learned the importance of the drum chair and compared it to the director’s chair in that the drummer runs the show like a director of a motion picture. He is responsible for the tempo of the show and has to insure that every song goes off without a hitch. Armed with vast experience a good sense of humor and a relentless thirst to be the best, Kenny never stops pursuing the knowledge needed by today’s drummer to survive in the music industry.
great bands in NYC and was able to gain more knowledge of drumming and the music business. Between trips to NYC, Kenny maintained a busy session schedule and began to study the instrument with Gary Chafee in Boston. Between trips to New York and Boston and points East, West, North, and South, Kenny met up with singer songwriter guitarist Jimmy Whip and started a fast friendship. Both Kenny and Jimmy share many of the same influences and before long a songwriting partnership started. Not long after the partnership began The Jimmy Whip Project was born touching upon the influences they both share and the same relentless pursuit for perfection they possess. The Jimmy Whip Project is the perfect vehicle for Kenny to display all the lessons he has learned over the years and armed with this knowledge, The Jimmy Whip Project is truly Powered by Howard. Kenny is endorsed by Pork Pie drums, Amedia cymbals, Accapella drumsticks, and XL Specialty cases.
